The Seven Rila Lakes 1935
Rejoice!
Rejoice in what is happening!
Do not grieve for what is not happening!
Everything that is happening is from God. Everything that is not happening is from the people. If something does not happen, do not grieve; if something happens be glad for it.
Delight in the one head you have; do not be sorry that you do not have two heads, i.e. do not be sorry for the two heads that you do not have.
Do not climb to a high place with a big rucksack! Those who climb to high places with big rucksacks cannot go far.
This is sufficient for the time being. If you are given more, you will take upon yourselves too much load [burden] and will not be able to climb upwards.
Let’s go down now, to rejoice in what is happening and not to grieve for what is not happening.
Lecture delivered by the Master on 6 August 1935, at 5 o’clock in the morning.
